Mariachi Las Dahlias is Colorado’s premier all-female mariachi ensemble, dedicated to celebrating Mexican and Latinx heritage through music. This diverse group of musicians brings the heart and soul of mariachi to every performance, blending tradition with a fresh and modern flair.
Our ensemble, composed of violins, trumpet, vihuela, and guitarrón, is committed to promoting female representation in the arts while honoring the deep-rooted traditions of mariachi music. The group was founded by Teresita Lozano, Valeria Carlos, and Roberta Maldonado with the goal of creating a platform for female musicians and preserving Latinx culture. In 2022, we embraced a more traditional mariachi style, refining our sound and deepening our connection to this beloved musical tradition. We continue to grow as a passionate collective, remaining devoted to our all-female roots and cultural diversity.
Over the years, Mariachi Las Dahlias has had the honor of performing for Governor Jared Polis, participating in the Crested Butte Music Festival, and performing at the Newman Center’s Musical Explorers concerts.
